Local engineers for every screen and camera in Surrey

This patch is all we’ve worked for decades, so we know which hills block which transmitter and which streets need a dish. The person who quotes is the person who fits it, and we only recommend what your home needs.

Drawing of a TV aerial on a chimney above neighbouring roofs

New TV aerials across Surrey

Roof, wall or loft aerials chosen for the transmitter that reaches your road, from Victorian terraces in Reigate to farmhouses outside Haslemere.

Drawing of an engineer repairing a TV aerial

Aerial repairs across Surrey

Blown-over poles, broken cable and patchy channels put right from Epsom to Farnham, even when another firm did the original job.

Drawing of a house with a satellite dish pointed at a satellite

Satellite, Sky and Freesat in Surrey

New dishes, moves, realigns and multi-room feeds in Woking flats and Dorking cottages alike. Where the North Downs or tall trees defeat an aerial, Freesat usually gives a steadier picture.

Cut-away drawing of a house with a TV point in every room

Freeview and extra TV points

Extra sockets in bedrooms, studies and outbuildings, and each TV tuned and checked on the day.

Drawing of a wall-mounted TV above a sofa

TV wall mounting in Surrey

Brackets matched to your wall and screen, wiring concealed in the plaster or a slim cover strip, and the soundbar and streaming box set up too.

Drawing of a home cinema room

Audio visual and home cinema

Cinema rooms, whole-house audio and display screens for pubs, clubs, gyms and reception areas.

Drawing of a block of flats with aerials and a dish on the roof

Communal and commercial TV

Communal reception for apartment blocks, care homes, hotels and offices, balanced so the furthest flat sees as strong a signal as the nearest.

Drawing of a CCTV camera covering a driveway

CCTV for Surrey homes and businesses

Camera systems for driveways in Guildford, shopfronts in Redhill, farms and industrial units, watched live from your phone. Existing systems repaired too.

Drawing of a Starlink dish on the gable wall of a country cottage

Starlink installation

Fast broadband for rural homes, farms and outbuildings fibre hasn’t reached, with the dish placed where trees and rooflines can’t block it.

Cut-away drawing of a house with Wi-Fi coverage reaching every room

Wi-Fi and home networking

Mesh systems, ceiling access points and data cabling so the signal reaches the loft office, the far bedroom and the garden room, set up by the same engineers who fit your TV.

What’s wrong with the picture?

Choose the system, then the symptom. You’ll see the usual causes and a couple of checks to try first. If one of them fixes it, you won’t need us, and we’d rather you knew that before you book.

Picture pixelates or freezes mid-programme

Likely culprits

  • A corroded plug or water inside the coax
  • Aerial knocked a few degrees off target
  • A loft or masthead amplifier on its way out

Check before you book

  • Reseat the aerial lead at both ends, TV and wall plate
  • Run an automatic retune and see if every channel comes back

On the visit. Signal readings taken up top and at every outlet pinpoint the section losing quality, and only that part is replaced.

All the TVs say “no signal”

Likely culprits

  • Amplifier power unit tripped or burnt out
  • Down-lead cut, chewed or pulled off the aerial
  • Aerial blown over or twisted on its pole

Check before you book

  • Locate the amplifier’s plug-in power unit and check it’s lit
  • From the garden, check the aerial is upright and facing the same way as next door’s

On the visit. We trace the fault from roof to sockets, renew a dead amplifier or damaged cable, and rebuild the installation if the weather took it.

One TV has no signal, the rest are fine

Likely culprits

  • The lead behind that TV is loose, bent or crushed
  • A broken wall socket or a damaged cable feeding it
  • The TV is on an HDMI source instead of its tuner

Check before you book

  • Borrow the lead from a working TV and try it
  • Press Source or Input and choose TV or Aerial

On the visit. We test that outlet, then renew the plate, lead or splitter port that feeds it.

Channels have gone missing

Likely culprits

  • Frequencies changed and the set needs a full rescan
  • Aerial aimed at a transmitter that serves your area poorly
  • One multiplex arriving too weak to lock on

Check before you book

  • Choose a full or first-time retune, not “update channels”
  • Ask a neighbour whether they’ve lost the same ones

On the visit. Every multiplex from each transmitter reaching your road is measured, then the aerial is aimed or changed for the most reliable set.

Goes blocky in wind or rain

Likely culprits

  • Bracket or clamps loosened, letting the aerial move
  • Water getting into a joint or through split cable
  • Cable outside has cracked with age

Check before you book

  • Check from outside for a tilted aerial or loose cable
  • Note whether the picture recovers once the weather calms

On the visit. New clamps and brackets where needed, fresh weatherproof cable, and sealed connectors from top to bottom.

Problems since a new mobile mast appeared

Likely culprits

  • 4G or 5G signals spilling into the TV band
  • An older amplifier with no filter amplifying the mobile signal too

Check before you book

  • See whether it’s worse in the evenings and at weekends
  • Visit the at800 website, which supplies filters to affected homes

On the visit. We add a 4G/5G filter, or replace the amplifier with a filtered one if it can’t cope.

Sky or Freesat reports a lost signal

Likely culprits

  • Dish moved off target by wind or a knock
  • A faulty LNB, the small receiver on the dish arm
  • A damaged cable or corroded plug

Check before you book

  • Unplug the box for 30 seconds and power it up again
  • Make sure snow or ice hasn’t built up on the dish

On the visit. The dish is re-pointed on a satellite meter, a dead LNB replaced, and each feed to your boxes checked.

Satellite picture drops in heavy rain

Likely culprits

  • Dish slightly off peak, leaving no margin for bad weather
  • Water inside the LNB or its connector
  • New tree growth blocking the dish

Check before you book

  • Note whether it returns as soon as the shower passes
  • Look for new growth in front of the dish

On the visit. The dish is fine-tuned on a meter, the LNB resealed or swapped, and the dish moved if growth is in the way.

No satellite in one room only

Likely culprits

  • A damaged lead or plug on that room’s feed
  • More boxes than the LNB has outputs
  • A dead port on a multiswitch

Check before you book

  • Restart just that box at the wall
  • Push the cable behind the box fully home

On the visit. We follow that feed back up to the LNB and renew whichever cable, LNB or multiswitch has failed.

A camera has gone blank or offline

Likely culprits

  • Camera has lost its power or network link
  • Recording drive full or worn out
  • Water inside a camera housing, or a cut cable

Check before you book

  • Power-cycle the recorder
  • Note whether a single camera or the whole system is down

On the visit. We test cameras and cabling one by one, renew failed parts, and fit a new drive if recordings have stopped.

Camera app on my phone won’t connect

Likely culprits

  • A new broadband router, so the recorder has dropped off the network
  • App or recorder software out of date
  • The recorder password has been changed

Check before you book

  • Check the recorder’s own monitor still shows live pictures
  • Restart the router first, then the recorder

On the visit. Our engineer rejoins the recorder to your home network, brings its software up to date and gets the app working on every phone in the house.

Before you book

Which parts of Surrey do you cover?

All of it. Our engineers work right across the county, from Spelthorne and Runnymede on the Thames down to Waverley and Tandridge on the Sussex border.

Do you cover Kent and beyond Surrey?

Yes. Our engineers work right across Kent, from Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells through Medway to Canterbury, Dover and Ramsgate, plus West Sussex (Crawley, Horsham, East Grinstead) and south London (Bromley, Sutton, Kingston). Not sure about your town? Send us your postcode.

My neighbour’s aerial faces another direction. Why?

Around Surrey, aerials face Crystal Palace, Midhurst, Hannington or a local relay, depending on the hills and which regional news you want. Two streets apart can need different set-ups, so we always take a reading first.

Aerial or satellite: which works out here?

In the Surrey Hills, the Weald and wooded valleys an aerial can struggle. Where it does, Freesat carries the main channels free of any subscription. Our engineer will recommend the best fit for your address.

Another company fitted my system. Can you still help?

Happy to. Any make of aerial, dish or camera system can be repaired or upgraded, and our engineer will say honestly which existing parts are worth keeping.

Who actually comes out?

A local engineer who installs and repairs for a living, not a salesperson on commission. They’ll explain the fault, what fixing it involves, and what can be left as it is.

Another question? Send a message or call, and you’ll speak to someone who does the work.
