Sky Q
Satellite dish
The main box records to its own hard drive, with Mini boxes in other rooms. Sky has committed to satellite broadcasts until at least 2029.
- Dish moves, realignment and repairs
- Sky Q LNB upgrades
- Extra rooms and cable runs

Sky Q dishes moved, realigned, repaired and extended to extra rooms. Switching across to Sky Stream or Glass? We’ll get the broadband connection and wall mounting right.
We’re independent of Sky, so these are booked with us directly.

Replacement dishes and Sky Q LNBs for homes staying on satellite, fixed to brick on brackets that won’t creep.

Cable runs for Sky Q Mini boxes, routed through walls and floors rather than round skirting boards.

Dishes moved for building work, rendering, new windows or a new extension, then lined up again on a meter.

Dishes knocked off line by wind, ladders or growing trees, put back on the satellite and tested on every box.

Sky Glass put on the wall with cables hidden, and a wired link to your router so it doesn’t rely on Wi-Fi.

Network points to the TV for Sky Stream, and Wi-Fi fixed in the rooms where streaming keeps buffering.
Sky now sells most new packages over broadband, but plenty of homes are still on Sky Q, which uses a dish. Here’s how the three differ, and where we fit in.
Satellite dish

Broadband, no dish
A small streaming puck plugged into any TV, with recordings kept online. It depends on a steady broadband connection.
Broadband, built into the TV
A TV with Sky inside it and a built-in soundbar. Like Stream, it needs good broadband and no dish.
With Sky Stream or Glass the TV runs on your internet line and the dish can go. How well that works comes down to your connection.

Our suggestion
Ask us about thisSky’s own engineers fit new Sky Q subscriptions and fix faults under warranty. Everything else, from shifting a dish out of a builder’s way to wiring a bedroom or removing one that’s redundant, is work for an independent engineer like us.
We’re also called when Sky can’t get out quickly, or when the fix needs something they don’t carry, like a longer bracket, a pole mount on a gable or a cable run through a solid wall. You keep your Sky subscription exactly as it is.
More households are moving over to Stream or Glass, Sky’s newer services, which arrive over the internet with no dish at all. The jobs change, but they don’t go away: a wired connection to the TV and solid Wi-Fi matter more than ever.

For extensions, rendering, new windows or just a tidier look.
We check the view of the satellite from the new wall before we take anything down.
The old dish comes off, and holes are filled. The dish goes up on fresh fixings.
Cables are moved to suit, often through the wall at a new point nearer the TV.
The dish is lined up on a meter and every Sky box checked before we leave.
Sky handles installs for its own new Sky Q subscriptions. For everything else, such as moving a dish, adding rooms, fixing faults or removing an old one, you can book us directly.
Not for a while. Sky has renewed its satellite contract so broadcasts continue until 2029 at the earliest, though new customers are now mostly offered Sky Stream or Sky Glass.
No. Both come through your broadband. If your broadband is slow or drops out, a dish with Sky Q can still be the more reliable choice.
We can. The dish, bracket and outside cable come down, and the holes in the brickwork are filled.
Unplug the Sky Q box, wait sixty seconds and plug it back in, then check nothing has grown or been put up in front of the dish. Still there? Then the dish, LNB or cable needs checking.
In most homes it will. Both point at the same satellites, so a sound dish can often be reused with the right LNB and a Freesat box.
No. You keep your package and your boxes, and we simply move the dish and cables.
Often, yes. We check the network between the main box and the Mini and add a wired link if Wi-Fi is the weak point.
A pole in the garden is the fallback. It’s concreted in, with the lead buried in ducting or clipped along a fence back to the house.
